OUTING: CITY OF TORONTO ARCHIVES | Thursday, June 4

09:15 AM - Meet at The Jamii Hub

10:15 AM - Meet at the City of Toronto Archives

Join us for a free outing to the City of Toronto Archives on Thursday, June 4. We’ll spend the morning on a 90-minute guided tour, learning about how Toronto’s records, photographs, maps, and documents help tell the story of the city and its communities.

POTLUCK | Monday, June 22 – 12:00 PM

These gatherings are all about food, conversation, and connection. Participants often bring dishes linked to their cultures, families, or favourite recipes. You are welcome to come for the full lunch or drop in for a shorter visit. If you are able, please bring a dish or snack to share. This is an indoor gathering and runs rain or shine.

REGULAR ARTS WORKSHOPS

  • Singing (Thursdays, 4:45 PM – 6:00 PM) with Stephen Targett

  • Movement (Tuesdays, 10:00 AM – 11:15 AM) with Carolina Rojas

  • Visual Arts (Tuesdays, 11:30 AM – 1 PM) with Janice Garel

VISUAL ARTS IN JUNE: SILK PAINTING

Learn the art of silk painting in a welcoming June series led by Janice Garel. Silk painting is an ancient art form with roots in Asia, and this workshop invites participants to create a beautiful 12” x 15” silk artwork using a method that does not require stretching the silk on a frame. It’s hands-on, colourful, and deeply satisfying, with a finished piece you can take home and display.

MOVEMENT IN JUNE: LATIN-INSPIRED MOVEMENTS

Bring some rhythm into your Tuesday morning. Carolina Rojas returns to The Jamii Hub for a movement series that keeps you active, smiling, and connected to the people around you. Using accessible Latin dance rhythms and steps, participants take part in continuous, repetitive movement that supports cardiovascular health, muscle strength, and coordination. The vibe is upbeat and supportive, with lots of room to move at your own pace and take breaks when you need them.
