THESE ARE THE MOMENTS WE WANT TO CREATE MORE OF.

Over the past week, on June 21, 26, and 27, hundreds of neighbours came together at Jamii's Joy in the Park events for music, dance, family activities, and shared moments that reminded us what it looks like when public space feels alive.

These are the moments we want to create more of.

This is the final reminder that Jamii's raffle for a one-week trip to the south France for 2 ends tomorrow at noon. So far, the raffle has raised $17,350, and the goal is to reach $20,000 by tomorrow noon in support of Jamii’s free arts and community programs.

If Jamii matters to you, this is a beautiful moment to show it and get your raffle ticket now.

BEAUTIFUL CELEBRATIONS OF NATIONAL INDIGENOUS PEOPLES' DAY AND MULTICULTURALISM DAY

June has a special kind of magic at Jamii.

For the past eight years, we have gathered in David Crombie Park to celebrate both National Indigenous Peoples’ Day and Canadian Multiculturalism Day together.

And what beautiful evenings they were!

The park was full of music, movement, children laughing, neighbours waving, food being shared, and people pausing to take it all in. We were honoured to welcome Kaha:wi Dance Theatre, Nova Dance, RAW Taiko, and Moneka Arabic Jazz, to name but a few. We sang, clapped, smiled, and felt that fresh breath of joy that moves through the park when we come together.

Each celebration has its own meaning, its own roots, and its own spirit. But together, they reminded us of something simple and powerful: this is what community feels like, right here on our doorstep.

For the past 15 years on The Esplanade, we are creating moments of belonging, pride, and joy, one gathering at a time.
