WE'VE BEEN KEEPING A LITTLE SECRET...

Jamii is getting ready to launch a special fundraising raffle, and the prize is a one-of-a-kind experience to another country for two people.

Your clue: red earth underfoot, market mornings, old stone streets, and long meals... Have a guess?

Watch your inbox on June 1 for the full launch and all the details.

THIS ONE IS FOR PARENTS!

Did you know that we often host movie nights for girls (ages 6 to 11)?

LAINI Girls’ Movie Nights is a free series of drop-off movie evenings for girls ages 6 to 11 at The Jamii Hub. Each screening brings girls together to watch a family film, share pizza and popcorn, and spend time in a warm, welcoming space led and supervised by Jamii staff. It is a chance to relax, laugh, and enjoy a fun evening with peers.

WHAT'S NEXT?

Screening: Over the Moon

Date: Saturday, May 30 - 6pm to 8pm

Location: The Jamii Hub, 264 The Esplanade

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU ABOUT JAMII'S LATEST PHOTO EXHIBITION!

A group of people watching soccer at The Jamii Hub

We unveiled PASI Photo Exhibition on May 8, and the response from the community has been tremendous.

Since then, PASI has been featured on CBC, visited by neighbours, families, soccer fans, and passersby.

There is one story we especially love! Qatar was the only country we could not find an individual participant for, so at the unveiling, the community came together for Qatar. We gathered for a group photo and cheered for Qatar. That photo is now displayed across from Market Lane Public School.

Now, we would love to hear from you!

What did PASI make you think about? Did you see yourself, your family, your country, your neighbours, or your community reflected in the exhibition? Did you have a favourite photo or moment?

Please take a few minutes to fill out our feedback form and share your thoughts with us.

IMPORTANT: We’ve learned that Rogers home internet security settings may sometimes block the form. If you are having trouble accessing it, please turn off your Wi-Fi and try again using your cellular data. We’re sorry for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience and understanding.

This interactive conversation will look at what arts and culture policy is, how it shapes the creative sector, and why artists and art workers should have a voice in the frameworks that affect their everyday work. Open to all levels of experience, this is a welcoming space to ask questions, learn the basics, and think together about how policy connects to the arts in Toronto.
