About the Event

Bring your family to WAYO Children’s Festival, Jamii’s five-day arts experience for children under 12 and their families. This 7th edition shares The Mudlark’s Mother, an original story rooted in The Esplanade’s history, community memories, and the many generations who have called this neighbourhood home.

The festival begins at 235 The Esplanade and follows a maze-like route through Berkeley Castle and Berkeley Theatre. Along the way, audiences will take in five short immersive performances filled with music, movement, storytelling, interactive art, sensory experiences, and face painting. Children will be invited to walk, watch, listen, imagine, and take part as the story moves through time.

The 2026 edition is directed by Jamii’s Alchemist Isorine Marc and features Jonelle Sills, Heidi Chan, Aline Morales, Michael Mortley, Waleed Abdulhamid, Rudy Ray, Nickeshia Garrick, Alison McDonald, Liboi, guest artist from Kenya, Linda Epp, and more artists to be announced.
