Join us on April 10 for an evening of painting and reflection as we explore the rich symbolism of the Chakana, an ancient Andean symbol representing the three realms of existence: Hanan Pacha (Upper World), Kay Pacha (World of the Living), and Uqhu Pacha (Lower World). Led by multidisciplinary visual artist Andre Mandela Lopez, this 2-hour workshop will guide you through the process of creating your own personalized Chakana cross while reflecting on its deeper meaning in your life.
Using acrylic paints on wooden canvases, you’ll create a personalized Chakana cross that blends Andean cosmology with your own story while exploring the three realms of the Andean worldview. Through thoughtful prompts, Andre will encourage you to reflect on your unique experiences and their spiritual, earthly, and ancestral significance, translating these reflections into your artwork.
