Come and learn folk songs and traditional songs from Egypt with Maryem Hassan Tollar. You will learn a range of music from folk songs from the rural south of Egypt to songs of revolution to beautiful love songs. In this workshop, Maryem will teach some of the basic rhythms and scales that are found in Arabic music through Egyptian songs and repertoire.
Maryem Tollar is a renowned Egyptian-Canadian vocalist, known for her world music performances.
